ZESPRI engages Fresh Studio to market ZESPRI Kiwifruit in Vietnam

25 August 2009, Vietnam  ZESPRI, the world’s largest kiwifruit marketer based in New Zealand, has engaged Fresh Studio to assist in developing and implementing a marketing strategy for ZESPRI Kiwifruit in Vietnam.

This year Fresh Studio has beenworking closely with ZESPRI's Vietnamese distributor Saigon Ve Wong, in driving Zespri’s sales targetsin this new market.

Vietnam provides a number of reasons for Zespri to aggressively grow their fruit here. With its population of 88 million people and a rapidly developing economy, Vietnam has a lot of market potential for a new and unknown fruit as kiwifruit. Additionally, Vietnamese consumers are curious, health conscious and fruit lovers. However, being one of the most underdeveloped modern retail markets in Asia, Vietnam could provide some challenges in retailing delicate and high quality fruits.

Fresh Studio's marketing team, under guidance of marketing director Mrs. Sigrid Wertheim-Heck, has launched an extensive in-store sampling promotion campaign to build the awareness of kiwifruit, grow the sales and generate ZESPI brand preference. The in-store promotion activities have thus far resulted up-to 10-fold sales increases in campaign stores. Half way the 2009 kiwifruit season, the Vietnamese market has already doubled its sales volume as opposed to that of the  2008 season.
